Monterey Peninsula - August 2010

We ate at Phil's Fish Market in Moss Landing. It had, by far, the best cioppino I've ever had.

Zmudowski State Beach. It was Sunday and it was beautiful and there was only 5 other cars in the parking lot. Pretty neat.

What is that? A breast implant jellyfish??

We were wondering why all these vultures were circling...

because there was a wild boar carcass on the beach.

This big jellyfish was washed up in a slough about 200 feet from the ocean. It had to be about 20 inches across. Weird!

After our walk it got packed with 8 cars in the lot.

Then we went inland, next to another slough. I told Jorden to jump in the cart so I could take her picture.

I have no idea why she didn't want to.

This sea otter was cracking shells open on his stomach while the bird went after the leavings.

The view from Jorden's balcony.

Rocco looks like he is pleading for help.

Jenks Lake

Jenks Lake is right up the hill from Yucaipa about 30 minutes away. Even though it was really busy on a Sunday, Chewy and I found a trail going down to a stream where we were the only people. It was really pretty and about 25 degrees cooler than Yucaipa. DUCKS!!
